A Treehouse in the Woods

[Theme Free-style, Tween Ranged]

"Dad! Dad!”, called Abby, “ Can Peter and me go to play in the woods?”
“Yes, but make sure you come back by noon.”, said Dad.

Peter was sixteen while Abby was fourteen. Peter lost his parents in a plane crash. He saw the plane crash in front of his eyes; he had become an orphan.
Fortunately, he met Abby. She took him to her own parents and her parents accepted to take good care of him.
“Did dad give us permission to go to the woods?” asked Peter curiously.
“ Yep”, chattered Abby.

In no time, they were in the woods. There was a gate, which led to the woods, and Abby had the keys to unlock it. Abby unlocked the gate and off they went into the woods. “Whoa! That was so close!”, said Peter, after Abby found him hiding in a bunch of long grass. They were playing hide and seek, and Abby was taking the den. After playing a few games, they soon got bored. It was time for lunch. They decided to go home.

As they were walking, Abby noticed something fluffy behind a tree. Peter heard a howling sound.
“What do you think about the sound?” asked Peter. “I think it might be a chicken?”, tried Abby.
“No, a chicken cannot howl.” said Peter, laughing at the guess.
“A deer?”
“No.”
“A snake?”
“No”
“A HAMSTER?”
“None. I think we should see it ourselves.”, answered Peter, still laughing.

Thus, they went to check the fluffy object. “Why, it is just a dog!”, Peter cried. “ An injured one that too.”, added Abby, who hated dogs.
“Oh, the dog was howling as he had this thorn stuck in his foot!”, said Peter, looking at the thorn.
“Let us make him our pet” “No! No! Nooooooooo!” “Yes! Yes! Yeeeeeeeees!” “Woof! Woof! Wooooooooof!”

After a few moments Abby was back home eating lunch with her parents.
“OH NO! I almost forgot about Peter!”, cried Abby, “I locked the gate before he could come!”

She ran to open the gate. As soon as she opened the door, she found Peter standing there.

“Oh my God! What have you done to your clothes?”, asked Mom,
“And how did you jump over the gate?” “I didn’t jump, I dug.”, said Peter
with mud on his shirt and pant.

The next day, Peter had something to show to Abby. As soon as Abby unlocked the gates, Peter called out: Barry! Woo, Woo!”, and soon, a very familiar dog appeared in front of them. He had a rope tied from a tree to his neck. It was the same dog which Peter and Abby saw the day before! “So, er, you made it your pet?”, said Abby, who
had become a maniac in mind for she hated dogs.
“Yes!”, said Peter, who loved dogs. As the dog walked, suddenly there was a huge cracking sound. The tree to which the dog was tied snapped.
The children saw that the tree to which the dog was tied was hollow.

A daring idea struck Abby. “ We can make a tree-house out of this tree!”
The tree-house was built in no time. The children enjoyed making it.
They had fun at the tree-house!
